"Who Said Engineers Aren't Important?"
This sequence of photos showed up by email from my brother Ed. I asked where they came from. He replied "I dunno...." So, after you stop laughing, where did these events take place? UK, Canada, OZ (this seems like an event from OZ)?? Ignore the title,"Who Said Engineers Aren't Important?", this was the topic line in the forwarded email. I suspect parochialism on the part of a bunch of jealous chemistry PhDs.

Jealous PhD chemists? Please narrow your seemingly judgemental credits(?!) appropriately. Jealous squash-playing hot pepper-eating corporately reorganized chemists. Regular old jealous PhD chemists would not have had the time to find such a delightful display of engineering (in)competence.
Are these real?
Leaving aside any modernist critical blather about "real" photographs. I believe these are real. It seems pretty unlikely that someone would put the energy into creating a fake scene or use models to do this without turning it into an art project that they would seek to display somewhere. And, further, such engineering tomfoolery are bit far afield for artists I know of.
